The Social Security Administration (SSA) awarded the Verdugo Jobs Center the Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) project. The WIPA program has Community Work Incentive Coordinators (CWICs) to provide all SSA beneficiaries with disabilities (including transition-to-work aged youth) access to benefits planning and assistance services. Cooperative agreements were also awarded throughout most States, The District of Columbia, and the U.S. Territories of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

What is WIPA?

  • WIPA provides work incentive and planning services for Social Security SSDI and SSI beneficiaries with disabilities who are ready to return, regain, or maintain employment.
  • The ultimate goal of WIPA is to promote and support successful employement to SSA of beneficiaries with disabilities and provide different resources available to reach their employment goals.
  • Help use your Ticket to Work and find an Employment Network (EN) that is right for you.

Who is eligible for WIPA Services?

  • People with disabilities receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Security Supplemental Income (SSI) ages 14-64 years old living in the Verdugo Region (Glendale, Burbank, and La Canada Flintridge), Van Nuys, and other neighboring cities in L.A. County.
